Clipping a Video
How highlight detection, cropping, and face tracking turn long video into clips.
How moments are found
Shortzly reads the full transcript and scores each segment on signals such as hooks, pacing, and sentiment, then returns the strongest segments as clips. Talk-heavy videos - podcasts, interviews, webinars, vlogs - produce the best results because the moments are in what is said.
Sources and length
Supported sources are YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, direct video URLs, and your own uploads. Twitch works from a past broadcast (VOD), not a live stream.
Starter processes videos up to 33 minutes and Pro up to 3 hours.
Aspect ratios and framing
Export 9:16 for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, 1:1 for the feed, or 16:9 for landscape. Face tracking (OpenCV or MediaPipe) keeps the speaker centered in vertical crops; for 16:9 output it resizes without cropping.
